Ogun state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Sunday, May 6, paid a visit to former governor and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Aremo Olusegun Osoba, at his residence in Lagos state.
The former governor, who was speaking at his residence, while receiving the Ogun state governor, commended Amosun for working towards ending the differences that existed between factions of the party in the state.
Osoba attributed the success of the Ward Congresses, held by the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state, on Saturday, May 5, to the unity and understanding that now exist among party faithful.
Osoba, who said this is a pointer to the victory of the party in the state in 2019, stated that the past disagreement among party members is normal in a democratic dispensation, adding that disagreement is bound to happen in politics, but the resolution of such crisis is a sign of maturity.
The APC chieftain, who emphasised that conflicts must happen in a political setting, however noted that it is expedient for such to be resolved by progressives, to protect and sustain the legacies of statemen like the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
Amosun, on his part, said the visit was a sign of respect and appreciation to Osoba, for his role in the unification meeting, recently held in his office, where loyalist of the former governor reunited with Amosun.
He said the party is now one big, strong and united family in the state.
